Porcelain Bridges
A dental bridge or fixed partial denture is a dental restoration that fills the gap or space between existing teeth or dental implants by permanently joining the denture to the teeth or implants by a dentist. It has the appearance of an artificial tooth connected between two dental crowns that will be permanently bonded on the adjacent existing teeth or implants. The three types of materials used for fixed partial dentures are all metal, all dental ceramics or porcelain, and ceramics fused to a metal such as gold.
Porcelain bridges are the most commonly used fixed partial denture because of their advantages, which include:
The translucent, shiny appearance is very similar to natural teeth.
Durable to stand daily stresses such as biting and chewing.
Can last from 10 years or more if proper dental hygiene is practiced.
Easily affixed into the area to be placed and the installation only requires two visits to our Hollywood dental office to finish.
Renowned cosmetic dentist, Dr. Vick Kargodorian, is well-known in the Los Angeles metro area, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood for his expertise in porcelain bridges and other aesthetic dentistry procedures. To schedule a consultation with Dr. Kargodorian, contact his Hollywood dental office and take the first step in having an attractive complete set of teeth and graceful smile.
The Hollywood dental spa of Dr. Kargodorian uses cutting edge equipment and technology in performing the application of porcelain bridges to ensure the procedure will produce the results you want - a beautiful and bright, natural-looking smile. The actual procedure is fast, pain-free and only takes two visits to complete the whole process.
In the first visit, our Los Angeles dentist Dr. Kargodorian will apply local anesthesia on the treated area. He will trim away the surfaces of the enamel of the teeth on either side of the space to accommodate the dental crown that will be applied on the teeth. Dr. Kargodorian uses a putty-like material to make an impression or mold of the teeth, which will be the basis for the customized fabrication of the permanent fixed denture and crown. It will take at least several days to finish the fabrication of the permanent porcelain bridges. During this time, a temporary denture is installed on your exposed gums and teeth to protect them from any injuries.
In the second dentist visit, Dr. Kargodorian will remove the temporary bridge and he will fit the permanent, customized porcelain bridges into the treated area. He will check the fixed dentures for their bite and fitting in the areas where they were installed and make any necessary adjustments. When the bite and fit is correct, the fixed denture is complete.
